Natalie cracks me up. I am always amazed by the stark contrast between Weston and Natalie and their personalities. Natalie is very much the stereotypical girl. I love it! She loves to cuddle, kiss, hug, hold her baby, and is just overall sweet and soft and tender. She also has the dramatics down perfectly. She is quite the drama queen.
The following is a very typical encounter you may have with her. This all transpired over a time frame of ten minutes.
First, she is playful and giggly. One of her favorite activities is to climb on the couch, stand on the cushion, then on the count of three fall forward into my arms. Talk about trust! She grins as wide as she can and swan dives into my arms. There is no holding back. I then squeeze her and we roll around on the ground for a little bit until she runs back to the couch to do it all over again. This time, her baby came along for the ride.
Next, she got distracted by the sticker on her back. We go to the gym every morning and I place a name tag on their back to distinguish them as mine. :) They think it is great. Anyway, she found it and can you guess what she did with it? That's right. Right into the mouth. Who would have thought that name tags are a delicacy to children?
Then we are right back to climbing on and jumping off the couch.
This last picture is the look she gets right before she dives into my arms. She is hilarious. We continue to roll around on the floor and giggle.
Then, she snaps. All of a sudden she abruptly stops, grabs her baby, takes it to the couch, and begins scolding it.
She then picks up her baby, runs over to the ottoman and continues to slam it up and down, grabs her again and runs to the couch rolling around on her back screaming. She then walks away calmly but then falls on the ground, rolling around with her in her arms.
Then, she is done. She calmly lays there as if nothing ever happened.
But wait! There's more! She spots the poor, unsuspecting, blow up dinosaur. He never saw it coming!
But, nothing beats the grand finale. Remember my post a while back about the fish dance? Well, she doesn't flop around so much like the fish anymore. Instead she condensed and simplified it to just a back bend. It must be easier for her now that she is bigger. ;)
But upon feeling her baby with her foot, it sparks those old, bitter feelings once more.
A few seconds later she seems to have thought of something. She gets up, runs to the door, grabs my flip flop, and puts it on my foot. Let's go mom!
Wow. Apparently she is fine now. Can you tell how much I am looking forward to the teenage years? Bring it on!
I love you Natalie!
