Children's Museum

We took the kids to the Dallas Children's Museum so that Roland could meet up with an old mission companion who happened to be in town.  The kids had a blast.

Natalie loved this dinosaur display.  She kept going back to look at it again and again. 

Natalie enjoyed digging for dinosaur bones

She was pretty skilled.  She would dig around it, brush the bone off, and then go at it again.

Weston liked burying the bones.  What a silly guy.

He would then meticulously brush them all off.  He was having so much fun playing with the dinosaur bones.  He kept saying "A bone!  I found it Mom!  I found it!"

He even made a friend and helped her brush off the giant rock.  If you notice in the background, you will see some tools on display in a case attached to the wall.  He was trying so hard to get into the case so he could use those tools.  He didn't understand why he couldn't get to them.  After all, he was an archaeologist.

Natalie's next stop was the farm.  You were supposed to put the little colored "seeds" into the holes as if planting but Natalie just wanted to pull out all of the "seeds" from the end and stick them in the nearby wagon.  She also had the green pepper permanently attached to her hand.

We then went to milk the cow.  Still see the green pepper?  She was more interested in plopping the pepper into the pail.

Then we found the water table.  Notice how she didn't want to put on a water bib?

Natalie made it her personal business to grab every duck out of the water and line them up along the bench.  She was incredibly upset when a little boy came and grabbed one of them away from her line.  How dare he!  ;)

Weston joined us for a brief second before he was off again.

I have a lot of pictures of his back.  He was so super excited and overwhelmed by everything there was to do and see.  He would run from one thing to the next because he would see something even better a few feet away.  (Disclaimer: Mom, I know you read this.  There is a snake picture five pictures down)

We found a fun little room that had little mats and toys for the kids to play with. Weston used the wavy mats to push his cars along.

Natalie was busy stacking blocks.

Natalie found these mirrors and thought they were great.

Weston took another stop on the fire truck - this time to drive.

Natalie took a ride.

Then it was Weston's turn to milk the cow.

He even rode the cow!

On the way out we stopped to make some big bubbles.

Apparently when Roland took just Natalie to make bubbles earlier, she was laughing hysterically. We didn't get that reaction for the camera. There were too many people around this time.

And, of course, the reason we went was to meet this guy.  Adam Caudle.

I think they have changed a lot in the past 8 years. What do you think?

We had a good time together. I think the kids had a lot of fun. We went wondering if we would want to get a year pass to this place as well, but we left agreeing that we will pass on the pass. It is one of those places that is fun to go once a year or two, but there is something about how dirty that place is and the thought of the five million other little children that just touched that exact same thing that kind of grosses me out. And, go figure, Natalie wound up with a runny nose a week later. So, we will stick with the zoo!
