Job Update

We were blessed this past week to have Roland start at his new job. He is a retirement planning specialist at Charles Schwab. The job offer was kind of quick. He interviewed and about a week and a half later (this being the Tuesday before Thanksgiving) they called him and offered him the position - to start the next Monday. Seeing as it was a holiday week, he gave one day's notice to his employer and started his new job. Luckily, his direct supervisor is the one that helped him get this job, so he knew it was in the works anyway.

Roland is liking it so far - as much as you can for the first few weeks as they just go over logistics and HR mumbo jumbo. He is really excited at the opportunity to learn so much about investment planning and how to manage a 401K. He hopes to be certified in the next few months so that he can manage our own 401Ks and also be able to do investments himself without having to pay a third party to do the transactions for us. That will definitely be a good skill and ability to have.

Although this isn't really the direct career path he is looking to take, we are grateful for the new opportunity and for the new knowledge, skills, and training he is receiving. He is looking forward to everything he will soon learn and is also looking forward to when he can actually begin his career. We are proud of him!
